In auto-parts distribution and logistics it is common to see a dashboard unveiled with a photograph and a process that still lives on paper, on WhatsApp or in the head of someone who has been in the warehouse for twenty years. It is not that 4.0 “does not work”. It is that it was switched on without a flow: inbound, outbound, quality and who decides with that data.

Without that map, the sensor is decorative. The data never leaves the warehouse. Purchasing, dispatch and service keep improvising. The next automation investment inherits the shift’s scepticism. Rightly so.
